An NCAA regular-season record crowd of 25,710 was on hand Saturday as the new Meadowlands Stadium made its debut by hosting the Konica Minolta Big City Classic.
Plenty of local players were involved in the three games that made up the event, including a heavy John Jay presence.
No. 11 Hofstra edged Delaware 12-11 to start the day. No. 1 Virginia then came away with a 7-5 win against No. 2-ranked North Rockland. Third-ranked Syracuse, the two-time defending national champions, beat No. 5 Princeton 13-4 in the final game of the day.
Carl Simonides sent along some photos from of some former Northern Westchester stars in action for the Orange.
