Barring thunder and lightning, it’s rare for rain to get in the way of a good lax game.
We knew all along that Monday’s games would be a go, but with flood warnings now in effect, that is not likely to be the case for today. (And that’s not even taking field conditions into account, which might prevent several games from going on today even if another drop of rain doesn’t fall — which does not look like there’s any possible way will be happening.)
Already, one scrimmage, a four-team event involving Somers, Suffern, Bronxville and White Plains scheduled for today at White Plains has been moved to Wednesday at Somers.
In Section 8, the lone game on the slate, East Meadow at Carey, has been postponed.
There are no Section 11 games scheduled.
There are four CHSAA games on the slate, including Holy Trinity vs. Chaminade.
So, as of now, here’s the one game still scheduled to be played on Tuesday.
Two of Section 1’s traditionally best programs, Rye and Brewster, are slated to start the season at noon at Brewster. But considering Brewster does not have turf, the chances of this one somehow getting in are slim to say the least.

We already have a game change for tomorrow. The Yorktown-Wappingers season opener, which had been scheduled for 11 a.m. at Wappingers, will now be played at Yorktown at noon because Wappingers does not have a turf field.
Rye/Brewster cancelled today. Dont know about a rematch.
