Today marked the official start of practices and tryouts for teams throughout the Hudson Valley/Long Island/Connecticut region.
While we’ve been focusing on the arrival of a new season, the recruiting news continues to come in.
Today, we have news of a commit from the Class of 2011, Sachem North’s Jake Cabble, a midfielder who is headed to Robert Morris.
What were the main factors in your decision to attend Robert Morris?
Their fast style of play, team chemistry and great coaching staff. During my visit, I never felt uncomfortable or unwanted at any time. The coaches and players made me feel very welcomed.
What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
Hartford and Loyola, and I also visited Sacred Heart
What adjustments do you think you will need to make to play at the next level?
Working hard on getting better at my weak and strong hand. And overall keep making improvements in all aspects of my game.
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
I would say my strengths as a player is my work ethic always hustling and always trying to improve. My style of play is fast pace and always on the go.
What players have you looked up to as you have moved up through the varsity ranks?
A player that Ive looked up to is (former Hopkins star) Paul Rabil watching him dominate in every aspect of his game.
When did you first realize you had the potential to play at the D-I level?
It’s always been a dream since day one but the day I realized I may of had a chance to play Division I lacrossse was when Coach (Jay) Mauro told me that if I keep working hard in the classroom and on the field, there would be no doubt in his mind I would be able to play Division I lacrosse.
