An exciting weekend of semifinal- and final-round games ended today with Toronto outlasting Denver 10-9 to win the Major League Lacrosse championship game in Annapolis, Md.

Needless to say, several players from the LaxLessons.com lower New York State/Greater Fairfield County area played key roles in the contest.

Toronto’s Merrick Thomas was named the game’s most valuabel player. He had two goals as did teammates John Grant Jr. and Shawn Williams.

Of note for Denver, former John Jay High School and Johns Hopkins University star Matt Bocklet had eight groundballs. Teammate Brendan Mundorf scored three goals.
