It could be a special 24 hours for Iona Prep attackman Nick Trizano.
The Drexel-bound senior enters today’s New York State Catholic Class A semifinal against Canisius with 295 career goals.
If Iona Prep wins, it will play St. John the Baptist tomorrow at 1 p.m. for the title.
Trizano has scored 76 goals this season.

Nick Trizano scored four goals, giving him 299 for his varsity career, and Iona Prep pulled away to defeat Canisius of Buffalo 13-7 today in the Catholic state tournament semifinals.
Iona Prep will play St. John the Baptist tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Iona Prep for the title and Trizano could reach 300.
Today, Michael O’Hagan had four goals and three assists and Myles Gillespie four goals and two assists for the Gaels. Trizano also had two assists. Kevin Kaiser made 13 saves in goal for Iona, which outscored Canisius 7-2 in the second half.
