Putnam Valley varsity coach Brian Kuczma informed me today that he has decided to retire from the MLL.
“I made the decision today after months of being on the fence and long talks with the family,” he said.
This certainly ends one of the most successful playing careers in the history of the Hudson Valley. Brian, of course, was an all-America defenseman at Yorktown and Johns Hopkins and an MLL all-star.
I know the entire lax community in the region joins me on congratulating Brian on on a great career and wishes him all the best in his current and future involvement with the game.

As one of Kuczma’s current players,
I have would also like to add to what you have said joe
I had no idea about this until today at my practice at the start he told us.
We all or at least I had thought he was once again on the Boston Cannons and was just going to keep playing for like 1 more year or maybe 2.
As for a coach, he is great.
He is a Defensive Genius and knows his stuff.
He harps on hard work play and teamwork play such as ground balls, giong full speed 100% of the time, communication on the field. etc.
Congrats to him and his accomplishments
good to hear
Well said Joe and PV player. Brian has to be on the short list of the best players this region has produced.
