Hey gang –
I’ll be heading up and over to West Point today for the 7 p.m. game between Hofstra, which is ranked sixth in the latest USILA national poll, and Army, which is tied for 20th. It will be Hudson Valley Lacrosse Night at West Point.
Should be a good one. The last time these teams met at Michie Stadium, Hofstra pulled out a 5-3 win during the 2007 season as Yorktown’s Tom Interlicchio, then a freshman, scored the winning goal for the Pride.
There are also some interesting varsity games today, including the Suffolk showdown between Farmingdale and host Lynbrook at 4:15 p.m. and a few intriguing scrimmages, including a matchup of two of the top teams in the region with Iona Prep visiting John Jay and West Islip visiting St. Anthony’s at 4 p.m. Drexel-bound star Nick Trizano (ankle injury) is expected to be sidelined for the scrimmage.
Please be sure to weigh in with your info/thoughts throughout the day.

Joe –
Your right Trizano didn’t play in the Iona-JJ scrimmage. It was pretty even. Iona came out and controlled the first half and actually led 8-2 but JJ came back big in the second half. Final score was 10-9 for Iona. Second year in a row the Gaels took it to the Indians in the pre-season only this time they were able to come away with the W!!!
Anyone who thinks Iona isn’t legit think again – beating JJ without the #1 scorer in the country!!!
Yes, indeed, GaelWins. I just posted some thoughts on the scrimmage in the comments portion of this thread:

Also, look for a separate post on the scrimmage that I will be putting up in a few minutes after I gather more info.
