Shane Madden will soon have another new home.

The midfielder is transferring to Trinity-Pawling School (N.Y.) from Brookfield High School in Connecticut.

He’s also decided where he will be playing after two seasons at T-P. The 2015 standout verbally committed to UMass earlier this week, as reported by Joe Lombardi on LaxLesson.com’s Lacrosse Insider section.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athletic lefty is effective at shooting on the run and as an alley dodger. He thrives in transition situations.

Madden, who plays travel for the Progression Connecticut Hurricanes, played for Team New England at the Under Armour Underclassmen games in Baltimore. He also played in the Moonlight Showcase.

Madden, who is also a football standout, is Trinity-Pawling’s third Class of 2015 commit and UMass’ fourth verbal for 2015 from the tristate.

Now, here’s a Q&A with Shane on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
(UMass Head) Coach (Greg) Cannella is a great coach with a history of winning.  Also, the campus and surrounding area was very inviting.  Amherst is a great college town.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
Drexel, Sacred Heart, Hofstra, Rutgers, Navy. I visited all but Navy.

What area of your game do you need to work on?
There are many things I need to work on, but one of the biggest would be off-ball offensive play.

How did you get introduced to lacrosse?
I was introduced to lacrosse when my friends all started playing in fourth grade and my dad, who played, bought me my first stick to fool around with.

What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
I play for the Progression Connecticut Hurricanes under Coach (Darryl) Delia.

Showcase events I participated include Jake Reed Bluechip, Under Armour Underclassmen Games, Peak 200, Gait Cup and Super Sophs.

Any final thoughts?
I would like to thank my parents for supporting me and driving me around the country every summer.  I would like to thank Coach Delia and (Head) Coach (Nic) Bell at Trinity-Pawling for being key mentors and connections through the recruiting process.

Also, I would like to thank Brian and Scott Loftus for taking over the Brookfield High school lax program and doing big things for a team on the rise.
