Congrats to all of this year’s winners. Great job getting the scoop on this Joe.
The kid Fischer from GC must be some player to get AA as a soph.
A few surprises – thought Set’s Molinari deserved a spot – but all are deserving.
My guess is that Meyer from Manhasset would have been next on the list, then Molinari. Totally surprised re Fischer – even if GC gets 1 because they are GC just didn;t see any soph there getting it.
taz,
Great point about Meyer. I think he’s one of the most underrated and overlooked goalies on the Island. He made some saves against both Darien and Garden City that defied logic. As good as Manhasset was offensively this season and as good as Cappellini, Rubertone and Duvnjak were, Meyer was a sort of unsung hero for the Indians. I think he got overlooked because Manhasset played so many lopsided games and wasn’t tested all that much in the state tournament.
If I was starting a team I’d have no problem with him as a cornerstone in net.
Aren’t there 2 starting Sophmore’s on that GC defense that are pretty good?
Rugger – they got a lot of press but neither ever matched up with the other team’s #1. Rossello (Sr) did that.

This is what I have came up with, I figured you would all find this interesting. Base scoring: State championship- 25 points State finals appearance- 15 points State semifinals appearance- 8 points Sectional championship- 5 points […]
