  1. Laximus says:

Should be a great day of games.

To get warmed up, everyone should see this great article on the growth of lacrosse in the Wall Street Journal. It’s a great read.

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124278087620937367.html

  2. HV Lax says:

The Wall Street Journal has a comment from Chuck Cohen??? LOL! WTF

  3. Jericho says:

Pequa and Syosset will be very heated. Pequa has something to prove after their last game.

  4. Turnitup says:

Scarsdale is very focused and learned a lot after watching tapes of Somers game. The Raiders will beat Nyack at home then have a shot at upsetting Somers.

  5. HVLax says:

Brewster is a team to watch. .ike Honey oes a nice job. Their may not be much talent wise separating them from TZ this year but the coaching factor alone will result in a 12-4 Brewster win I think.

  6. Indians4ever says:

Looking forward to watching a real good goalie matchup in Ossining-Fox Lane today. Greg Bardwell of Ossining nearly led us to sectional win over Somers last year. Luke Robinson of Fox Lane is real good too.

  7. TZLax says:

HV Lax your comments are spot on. I’m afraid you don’t even know the half of it.

  8. The Rock says:

I hear you about TZ situation.

Best game of Wednesday’s quarterfinals will be White Plains and North Rockland.

  9. Green Wave says:

Go Irvington! Good luck at Nanuet today boys. Bring home our first sectional win in lax.

  10. IslandLaxpert says:

Northport/Floyd is a real good even matchup today. I’ll take Floyd 11-8.

  11. Observer says:

Laximus thanks for linking the WSJ article. It was well done and really summed up the growth of lax.

  12. LI Guy says:

Baldwin at East Meadow is one to watch. I like Baldwin even though they’re on the road. Dominique Alexander is always fun to watch. Ohio State is getting a good one.

  13. Panther Pride says:

Ardsley v. Briarcliff is an 8 v. 9 but ardsley should roll. I’ll say 11-5.

  14. lacrosse says:

joe what do you think about the harrison v south game?

  15. Joe Lombardi says:

Fox Lane is leading Ossining 5-4 at the half.

Please be sure to post any info/scores on games you are at.

  16. Hvlaxfever says:

    Anything on the Nanuet game?

  17. Hvlaxfever says:

Nanuet won something like 9-3, go Knights!

  18. Joe Lombardi says:

Those expecting a much closer rematch between Syosset and Massapequa were right.

Syosset pulled out a 5-4 win in a game that featured nine different goal scorers. Jon Guzman had 1-1 for the Braves.

  19. Joe Lombardi says:

    Other Nassau Class A finals:

    Floyd 12, Northport 5

    Hicksville 13, Port Washington 5

Sachem North 10, East Islip 9

  20. max says:

    what about clarkstown south joe?????

  21. Joe Lombardi says:

More finals from Section 1 tournament:

    Pelham 13, Pearl River 3

Arlington 10, Wappingers Falls CSD 4

    Nyack 8, Scarsdale 5

    Rye 12, Croton-Harmon 2

    Pleasantville 13, Haldane 5

    Mamaroneck 11, New Rochelle 0

  22. Observer says:

Nyack will beat Somers? Oh really. Well thanks for the heads up Tribal Warfare.

  23. Dutchess Lax says:

Congratulations to Arlington on winning its first sectional game. With a strong development program the future looks bright for the Admirals.

  24. Mid_County_Observer says:

    Fox Lane 9
    Ossining 6

Bardwell played hurt for Ossining and it showed, but he hung in there. Robinson not really tested after O led 4-2 in the 2nd. Ossining scored when they originated plays at X, but stopped doing it in the second and insisted on originating up top the rest of the game; Foxes adjusted and O had maybe ten shots the rest of the way. Coaches?

Fox Lane is by no means a great team, but they were well prepared and stuck with their system…kudos.

  25. Syracuse says:

Pelham beat White Plains. Just remember that.

White Plains beat both Putnam Valley and Mahopac.

Pelham is a nice story even if they lose their next game.

  26. max says:

Greeley will destroy Fox lane again, they have no shot at all. You can take that to the bank

  27. Joe Lombardi says:

    More scores –

    Baldwin 12, East Meadow 8

    Farmingdale 10, Oceanside 9

Clarkstown South 11, Harrison 3 – So yes, Luke Haggerty will face JJ again after his 33-save performance against the Indians earlier this season.

  28. Joe Lombardi says:

    Ardsley 7, Briarcliff 4

    Bronxville 12, Sleepy Hollow 3

    Nanuet 9, Irvington 3

    Byram Hills 10, Hastings 4

  29. Syracuse says:

West Genny and Sewanhaka are breathing sighs of relief right now. Can anyone guess why?

  30. YanksJetsSJU says:

Hen Hud 13 Eastchester 1. Sailors weren’t crisp in the beginning, up 3-1 after one. They rolled after that, puntuated by Kyle Fanning’s goal with just a second left before the half that gave Hen Hud a 7-1 halftime lead.
Alex Kaufmann led Hen Hud with three goals followed by Fanning, Eric Brown and Bruce Pappas (1 assist) all scoring twice with Mike Bertoline (1 assist), Matt McDermott (three assists), Jim Rizzo and Vin Laureti tallying a goal each.
Tim Ruh also had an assist.
Bobby Sincero made 12 saves in three quarters and Eliot Astor made four saves in the fourth.

  31. lax says:

south handled harrison, 2-0 after 1st, 2-1 at half, 7-1 after 3rd, 11-3 final, luke let in two

  32. wildcats says:

    Corning East Lost to Ithaca

  33. INC says:

Lakeland Panas Killed Put Valley ina Scrimmage today!!

  34. Syracuse says:

BREAKING: Unbelievable … as wildcats said … Ithaca beat Corning East tonight 14-11

  35. Syracuse says:

Ithaca only lost to Corning East 8-7 the first time around so maybe this team will be ready to challenge West Genny for real this time in states. I don’t think this will mean much to East. I still expect them to get to the state final.

  36. LAX says:

Wow first loss for Corning? They’ll still probably face Nisky in the final.

  37. Mid_County_Observer says:

Max, your trash talk is uncompelling and unsubstantiated…

Fox Lane certainly can beat Greeley. They play disciplined within their system and Greeley is not a great team. This is an interesting matchup because of the FL defense and Robinson in goal.

  38. LI Lax says:

Bay Shore actually beat West Babylon 12-6. They’ll face WM in the quarterfinals

  39. sec1 says:

Syracuse, answer to your question? Alltime winning streak, Town ended West Genneys so they remained tyed with Sewanhaka’s..

  40. Syracuse says:

    Correct Sec 1.

I was going for the fact that now Irvington can’t challenge it, but Joe was too involved picking Supreme Court justices and continuing LaxLessons world domination to answer. But good job by you.
