Whether in football or lacrosse, twin brothes Nick and Anthony Grasso have been playing together their entire lives.
The Fox Lane seniors, who all played together on the Prime Time travel team, will have one more season as teammates this spring.
After that, they’ll be going their separate ways in college.
Well, not exactly.
You see, Nick (pictured here), a 6-foot, 200-pound midfielder, will be attending Montclair State, and as we told you back in November, Anthony is headed for Stevens Tech.
So that means, for the first time, the two will be playing against one another.
“I definitely look forward to playing against my brother because we both have always been on the same team our entire lives,” Nick said. “It’s going to be great rivalry between not only me and my brother but our teams.”
Now, here’s more from Nick, a physical player who is an adept dodger, on his commitment:
What were the main factors in your decision?
Definitely the day I went for the official visit when everything just seemed perfect. I had a great feeling about the school.
Getting to know Coach (Chris) Kivlen was great as well. He’s an amazing guy and I can’t wait for him to be my coach. Coach told me I would have a spot as a freshmen which definitely helped my decision-making process. The campus was unbelievable as well.
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
One of my strengths is getting up and down the field non-stop. I rarely come off and I am a very intense player. I love the contact and that is why I am the hardest hitter on my team. I am a strong dodger from up top and behind the goal.
When did you first realize you had the potential to play at the college level?
When I played every game the entire game sophomore year, I was hitting kids and scoring goals. I have only improved my speed and strength and I am ready for the college level.
